The Board of Education opted not to extend District Superintendent Stephan J. Vigliotti Sr.'s contract for the second consecutive year.
During Monday's meeting, the board voted 7-0 against extending Mr. Vigliotti's contract beyond 2014. There was no discussion prior to the vote.
A year ago, he asked board members in a letter to not renew his contract so they could focus on the district's 2010-11 financial plan.
His contract is renewable by board action each year.nder terms of the current contract, Mr. Vigliotti has been appointed as the district's superintendent until June 30, 2014.
His time as superintendent will end then if the board doesn't renew his contract next year or the year after.
