It's been just five years since the Arctic Monkeys notched the fastest-selling debut album in UK history, but that already feels like a few lifetimes ago for the Sheffield quartet, which takes a decidedly psychedelic turn on its upcoming fourth album, "Suck It and See." The band is winding into the final week of its stateside dash as the album awaits release June 7. Opening are London's punky garage-rock newcomersthe Vaccines. 6:30 p.m., the Fillmore Detroit, 2115 Woodward, Detroit. 313-961-5450. $25.
Robin Trower
He shares the stage with a band and vocalist, but the spotlight here ultimately lands on Trower's sizzling guitar solos -- the sort of transcendent, reach-for-the-stars playing that has long defined his classic rock work. Trim and energetic at 66, Trower is one of rock 'n' roll's survivors, and remains one of its underrated heroes. Detroit band Slight Return kicks off the evening . 7 p.m. Royal Oak Music Theatre, 318 W. Fourth, Royal Oak. 248-399-2980. $32, $49.50.
