With four months remaining for India’s first F1, watchmaker and official F1 timekeeper TAG Heuer launched a limited edition Carrera Tachymeter Chronograph, launched by brand ambassador Shah Rukh Khan. It comes with the insignia of Buddh International Racing Circuit that will host the race.Jaypee Sports International Limited, the company responsible for Buddh International Racing Circuit is very enthusiastic about the race and the new watch. “Three years ago, we had land acquisition issues, but, finally got the site in Greater Noida, UP. The circuit has 16 different turns to test the driver and the car,” said Sameer Gaur, MD & CEO, Jaypee Sports International Limited.
The Carrera Watch offers accuracy to 1/100,000th of a second. It has a small layout of the circuit and the Buddh ‘B’ logo on the dial. It is a collector’s item that commemorates the F1 circuit. There will be only 200 limited edition pieces, with pre-booking starting September in time for the race. Legends like Jacky Ickx, Clay Regazzoni, Ronnie Peterson, Alain Prost and Artyon Senna have been admirers of this Swiss watchmaker.
