SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA - A South Lake Tahoe baby boy just wasn't going to wait to be born at the hospital.David Corado came into the world 10 days early - at a bus stop!
Sgt. Brad Williams with the South Lake Tahoe Police Department, said the infant's parents, the Corados, had called a taxi to pick them to take them to Barton Memorial Hospital when Maria Ortiz-Corado went in labor. The couple were waiting for the cab at a bus stop at the corner of Pioneer Trail and Aspenwald when the baby started coming.
Williams said the Corados called police dispatchers at 12:29 a.m. for help. Dispatchers began coaching the couple through the birth. Williams said three officers arrived within a minute to a few minutes later but David was already there.
Paramedics transported the mother and infant to the hospital where Williams said they were reported as being a little cold but healthy.
