Monday, May 9th at eleven fifty p.m., I awaited anxiously the premiere of a song that I have only listened to once, all of the way through. Why? Because it is written by the guitarist of Avenged Sevenfold about the tragic death of Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, who was his best friend. So when midnight came and I didn't find the video, I was upset.
The song is heart wrenching. I can't listen to it all of the way without crying. I have been a huge fan of Avenged Sevenfold for a very long time and have an attachment to each of the members. When Jimmy passed on December 28, 2009, all I did was cry. I woke up to a text message and many voicemails. When I found out I cried. When I told my parents, I cried. And when my friends and family asked about it, I did what I did for a few days.
Now the tears are occasional but still full of sadness. I wish I had the chance to meet Jimmy since he was such a great, funny, inspirational man. My heart goes out to all of those whose heart's Jimmy touched. We all love him and miss him.
