Blame the good weather if your yard waste is still sitting on the curb.
Omaha officials said Saturday that contractor Deffenbaugh Industries was behind schedule because of greater-than-normal amounts of yard waste “due to prime lawn growing conditions.”
The Memorial Day holiday also pushed yard waste collections back by a day.
Deffenbaugh workers were expected to complete collections in the Thursday service area on Saturday. Friday collections will likely be completed Monday.
Residents should leave any uncollected yard waste at the curb.
Missed collections should be reported to the city’s solid waste hotline at 402-444-5238 after 7 p.m. of the collection day.
