Warriors name Mark Jackson as new head coach

The Golden State Warriors named Mark Jackson as their new head coach.Jackson is a 17-year NBA veteran and is currently a broadcaster on ABC/ESPN, according to a news release from the team.Financial details about the deal were not disclosed.“After an extensive search and a great deal of consideration, we have come to the conclusion that Mark Jackson is the best coach for this team,” Warriors’ General Manager Larry Riley said in the statement.Jackson will begin as the head coach after the NBA playoffs.
