A tornado watch is in effect until 8:00 p.m. all five boroughs of New York City and Nassau county. Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester Counties are also under the tornado watch. In Connecticut, New Haven and Fairfield are under the same warning, and that also applies to Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Union Counties in New Jersey.Sea levels are expected to rise by up to two feet in some areas, and so marine warnings are in effect all around the New York region.People are being advised to remain indoors whenever possible this evening.
The National Weather Service issued the aforementioned warning.
