It may be bathing suit weather here in Boston but let's face it, the minds of most New England sports fans this week are still on ice. The Bruins have reached the Stanley Cup finals for the first time in 21 years -- literally a lifetime for their youngest fans -- and it is a thrill to see the Hub's hockey heroes once again getting their due.
Yes, it's been a long road, and we're not just talking about the NHL's playoff schedule (the B's opening series against Montreal began on April 14).
The fact is the Bruins haven't brought the Stanley Cup home to Boston since 1972, since the days of Orr and Espo & Co., and haven't reached the finals since 1990.
