The Associated Press reported: "Palin, the former Republican vice presidential nominee, said she and Trump shared similar ideas for improving the U.S. economy, while Trump called Palin a "terrific woman and a terrific friend" whom he hoped would seek the GOP presidential nomination."
Palin, on day three of her northeast bus tour, has remained coy about whether she would seek the Republican nomination in 2012. Trump, who also flirted with a possible GOP presidential bid, announced earlier this month that he would not run.
The House of Representatives late Tuesday overwhelmingly voted against raising the national debt limit. The legislation would have raised the federal government's debt ceiling by roughly $2.4 trillion. The vote was 318-97.
