Cheryl Cole is understood to be fighting against X Factor bosses in the U.S. to ensure she receives the £1.2 million fee promised to her.
Over the weekend it has been reported that the singer had been invited to return to her role on the X Factor in a bizarre U-turn by Fox executives.
However new reports claim that it is simply a ruse by show bosses to get out of paying Cheryl's fee - as they are banking on her not turning up to the next auditions on Wednesday, making her in breach of contract.
