Body found hidden in motel bed in Salt Lake City

Police are investigating a suspicious death after a body was found inside a mattress at a motel in downtown Salt Lake City.
Police found the body of what is believed to be a woman
at the Capitol Motel at 1749 South State Street around 2:30 a.m. Thursday.  They say the body was found under the bed, tucked inside the box spring."The suspicious nature of it is where the body was located," said Salt Lake City Police Detective Mike Hamideh. "The body was located inside of a wooden bed frame with the matress that was on top."
Officers say they were called to the scene by the motel managers, who said a guest, Sophia Salas, found the body at room number 12 just before midnight. Salas says she noticed an awful smell when she entered the room. She also says the body inside was that of a woman, about five feet, five inches tall and she may have had orange hair.
Police suspect the body was there for a couple of days or longer.
