1-year old drowns in pool Saturday

Live Oak — Suwannee County Sheriff Tony Cameron said that a 1-year-old girl drowned in her family's above ground pool in Wellborn Saturday, while she and six other children were being watched by a babysitter.
Sarah Rae Tetreault reportedly got out of the home through a partially opened sliding glass door before climbing a ladder into the pool around 1:30 p.m. She was being watched by an adult while her parents, Nancy and Kevin Tetreault went to the store. Six other children, some teenagers, Cameron said, were also in the charge of the adult.
"The children had been out swimming earlier," said Cameron. "Some of them were around fifteen, old enough to watch after themselves."

Cameron said Sarah apparently climbed the ladder into the pool. She was in the water for about 15 minutes before she was pulled from the water.
"She was found by the father," Cameron said. "The parents began CPR."
The Tetreault's continued to perform CPR on the 1-year-old until emergency personnel arrived.
Sarah was transported to Lake City Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

The Suwannee County Sheriff's Office and the Department of Children and Families is investigating the drowning.
